RT @donmilleris: Jesus created enemies by telling the truth. And then he died for them because he loved them. Lets emulate both.

My Prayers.
This week I’m taking a vacation for a few days by myself. My goal is for this to be a retreat of some kind to think about what I want to do in my ministry this year. My ministry however is not near as important as my relationship with Jesus. Many times my prayer life is for others and yeah there is a lot about me. The things I am now praying for are because they are things that I am lacking....

We go on.
I took the long way home But it led to the same apartment Where no one’s paid the phone bill And no one really cares When will that road Go somewhere beautiful And somewhere safe? Cause around here everybody’s trying To find someone to be Every guy’s trying to find respect In the eyes of a girl Who just wants to be loved We’re children playing with guns Children playing...

Australia.
I was given the opportunity to go to the Continent/Country of Australia when I had graduated from high school. There were a lot of things that stuck out to me when I think about being there. One thing in particular would be the stars at night. You would think the sky is the same here is at is there, however it is completely different. There is a constellation with four bright stars that as you can...

Withdrawal.
Withdrawal was the way of the Pharisees. Anxious to apply the law to details of everyday life, they had a false understanding of holiness, imagining that mere contact with evil and evil people would bring contamination. And a form of Christian pharisaism or separatism has lingered in the church. It has often been due to a passionate longing for holiness and a zeal to preserve Chrsitian culture...

Her beauty was enough to make a man fall to his knees and babble incoherently, but this was a woman of class and I knew that anything above a simple gesture would be the death of me. As she approached, I went to tip my hat, but realized pretty quickly that I wasn’t wearing one. Not to leave my hand dangling foolishly in the air, I went ahead and tore a fistful of my...
Things I Never Want to Forget.
1. I am a slave to righteousness. May my faith be so consuming that my legs and my arms are inclined to God’s word.
2. May the words I say, the things I do, the things I think about, ever be honoring to my God and my wife.
3. That Christ is the author and the finisher of my faith. He also is very much involved in the middle. My life today is a work of his hands. He is with me now just as...

Sorry.
God, I’m sorry when I reduce you to a set of directions or a step by step process. That if I pray this prayer or say this thing then that will put me where I want to be. May I always remember that you came down as an image or a person that was a human version of you. May I remember that he felt things as a person, much like you do. May I remember that you are not in some sort of cold...

How is a Disney movie called “Up,” the saddest movie ever?
“Up” what a downer. (dang I’m clever).

Cynicism.
This is an excerpt from Relevant Magazine. As products of broken homes, brand messaging, ‘seedy schemes revealed amid the formerly shrouded machinations of ‘the man.” Nothing being sacred anymore due to countless scandals from corporations and those who we were taught to believe and to trust. As well as media airing out the dirty laundry of fallen leaders; “It is totally understandable why we...

It’s eight minutes long. But it’s pretty cool.
Frustration.
This weekend I went Indiana and I got to hang out with my family. Which is always good because I feel I get a boost on wisdom. It’s like I get to come home with a bunch of one-liners to think about. One issue I’ve been having, is what is okay for venting and when does frustration become grumbling and complaining (by the way this is in no way directed to anyone or anything in my life)....

Music.
I’m a big music guy. I think about music everyday. There is a song that I’m thinking of almost every hour of the day. So this may seem stupid to some.
All my friends’ dads growing up seemed to listen to seventies and eighties music. I didn’t think much about it other than kind of thinking there were weird guys with long hair and thinking all of it was the devil’s...
House hunting.
So today we went to see if we could qualify for a mortgage at a house. So we went to the bank to see if we could qualify. We did. Although, we didn’t realize we need a down payment. So moving into a new house may not be in the near future but, soon enough.
Then we went to look at a house (because we scheduled the tour before we knew we couldn’t buy it). The house was built in the...

Jobs.
The hardest part of Starbuck’s was dealing with people that were just not good people. I remember this guy with a black beret that would come in and treat the guys like trash and would only be nice to you if you were a girl. This guy would put me in a bad mood. I’ll even sometimes catch myself thinking that I really wish he would have come in on the last day I was working because I...
I'll Be Home Soon...
Life it just goes on When the traveler’s gone And that’s the hardest part Cause time has no respect For a lonely man With a longing heart Cause once you’re where you’ve wanted Everything’s so fast But I’ll be home soon I’ll be home soon And if you have a place Where you belong You’re a lucky one For time was meant to waste A laugh with...
